Good coffee should be easy to order, for everyone.

Our commitment

Cool Coffee Co. is a family business, and we want everyone to be able to browse, order and manage a subscription on our site, including people who use a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification, voice control or other assistive technology.

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. Accessibility is built into our theme itself, not added on with a widget.

What we built in

• Keyboard access everywhere. Menus, search, the cart, quick view, filters and account pages all work without a mouse, with a visible focus outline and a "Skip to content" link.
• Readable contrast in light and dark mode. The site follows your device's light or dark setting, and every text and color pair is checked to meet AA contrast in both.
• Your motion settings are respected. If your device is set to reduce motion, animations turn off automatically. Nothing moves for more than 5 seconds on its own.
• Clear structure. Real headings, landmarks, labeled form fields, and buttons that announce what they do and whether they are open or pressed.
• Text alternatives. Product and collection images have descriptive alt text. Decorative graphics are hidden from screen readers. Any video we add will have captions.
• Zoom and resize. Pages reflow to a single column at 400% zoom with no sideways scrolling, and touch targets are at least 44 pixels.
• No overlay widgets. We removed our accessibility overlay because overlays often get in the way of the tools people already use.

Apps and third-party content

Some features come from partners: reviews (Judge.me), email sign-up (Klaviyo) and checkout (Shopify). Rewards and subscriptions run on Hatch, our own app, which we test to the same standard as this site. We style and test the partner parts too, but we don't control all of their code, so parts may not fully meet WCAG 2.2 AA. If one gets in your way, tell us and we'll help you finish your order directly.
